Stuffed peaches or “persi pien“ are a famous dessert in the Piedmontese tradition, which Fonderie Ozanam has delightfully packaged in a jar. Difficult to place in time, it seems they even had medieval origins, naturally without the cocoa that arrived in noble houses only at the end of the 16th century. In ancient times they were the dessert of the day of Ferragosto, when at the height of summer the peaches are juicier and more fragrant. This dessert was also part of what was called the “merenda sinoira”, another Piedmontese tradition, this time more linked to work in the fields, and which spread especially among peasant families. Today it is an excellent snack, ideal for any occasion, but also an irresistible dessert at the end of a meal, which if desired can be served together with Zabaione, always made in the creative laboratories of Fonderie Ozanam, or next to a scoop of ice cream.
