Today we offer you baci di dama from Fonderie Ozanam in Turin, a social cooperative that operates with respect for the urban environment and applying dynamics of circular economy and the fight against waste. But what is the origin of such goodness? In reality, baci di dama were born in a pastry shop in Tortona, a Piedmontese municipality in the province of Alessandria. The reason for such a particular name lies in the shape and composition of the sweet: according to a first theory, the kiss would be what the two small biscuits exchange to remain united, held together by a delicious layer of chocolate. A second interpretation, however, wants the name to derive from the fact that the shape of the sweet suggests that of the lips of a girl intent on popping a kiss; hence, precisely, the definition “lady's kiss”.
