Ermes Rice is a cultivar Italian Of rice red integral. Obtained in Italy from the cross between rice Venus (medium grain and black pericarp) and a rice of the type indicates (with a long, narrow grain and white pericarp). It also has an elongated grain with a delicate aroma and a bright red color when harvested, brick-red after seasoning, given by the presence of anthocyanins contained in the external part of the hulled grain. It is mainly grown in the provinces of Vercelli and Pavia, where the company Il Riso del Paradiso is located. Its peculiar note on the palate recalls exotic varieties of rice, for this reason I recommend pairing it with stews or grilled foods, seasoned with oil and aromatic herbs.
