Caffè Le Lazzarelle is a cooperative of women only that works inside the largest women's prison in Pozzuoli. The women prisoners work to produce coffee, tea, infusions and herbal teas, according to the ancient Neapolitan tradition. The goal is to enhance artisanal knowledge and promote social inclusion.Le Lazzarelle coffee is produced without additives and with coffee beans purchased from the Shadhilly cooperative, which promotes cooperation projects with small coffee producers in the southern hemisphere. The cooperative has so far seen the participation of more than 70 women, who have thus become aware of their rights and their possibilities by learning a trade. Furthermore, the coffee packaging is made without aluminum, in recyclable plastic material .
