OZANAM FOUNDRIES , Turin (TO)

Fonderie Ozanam is a non-profit social cooperative that has been operating in the restaurant industry for 33 years. Help to train young people with disabilities or at risk of deviance and political refugees in the restaurant world , giving them the concreteness of a profession , leading them to overcome difficult situations and find work in established restaurants. At the helm there are 20 worker members, many of whom were trained thanks to the courses held within the cooperative . In 2006 the Meeting Service cooperative, now known as Fonderie Ozanam, moved to via Foligno 14. The name pays homage to Federico Ozanam , who dedicated his life to the most disadvantaged social classes, during the industrial and political revolutions , but more precisely to Casa Ozanam , the hostel that the municipality of Turin opened where the cooperative now stands. social to host families who emigrated from the south, to whom no one in the city wanted to rent their homes. Even the name Fonderie is not a coincidence. Young people in difficulty, who come from difficult realities, here merge in the warmth of sharing intentions. There are no better, worse, pre-packaged titles or hierarchies. There are people who share the same social vision. This is what happens to these kids every day .
